Adding BLR Winglets to a Beech 90 - Part 1.
MCA's work to install BLR winglets on a Beech 90 has started. The BLR winglets, whilst offering an appearance similar to new King Airs, provide improved performance. The aerodynamic improvement will reduce time to climb and fuel burn, improve short field performance and extend range. As the photo shows, the winglets come with improved LED lighting.
First stage is to remove the existing wingtip lighting. As the wingtip extends the wingspan, a the existing de-ice boots are removed to add a new longer de-ice boot. The existing wingtip is then removed.
